Principal asks
How should a sovereign allocator think about Vision 2030 alignment when underwriting a new private markets commitment?
Counterpart
Alignment is a filter you apply before capital ever moves, never a line you tick on a term sheet afterwards. Three tests matter: does the sponsor's thesis compound with a diversification mandate away from hydrocarbon revenue, does the governance structure survive a change of sponsor leadership, and does the deal build a domestic capability the mandate is scored against, not just a financial return. A position can be financially sound and still fail all three. I'd rather flag that tension now than let a principal discover it at IC.
